asphaltum washout solution
Powdered asphaltum, or gilsonite in an organic solvent, used in lithography to make printing image on press plate permanently ink receptive. Also known as "Senefelder liquid asphaltum". Is used in lithography, and for etching, to cover the rear side of the plate. It can also be used as an etching ground.
