Bath
A term used to designate:
- The mordant contained in a pan and used for biting plates as well as (more
rarely) the operation of biting itself. [*mordant]
- The liquid used in the electrotyping process.
[*steelfacing, electrotyping]
- At times it is also used to describe the water used to wet paper before it
is printed. [*dampening (of paper)]
