Bath
A term used to designate:
  1. The mordant contained in a pan and used for biting plates as well as (more rarely) the operation of biting itself. [*mordant]
  2. The liquid used in the electrotyping process. [*steelfacing, electrotyping]
  3. At times it is also used to describe the water used to wet paper before it is printed. [*dampening (of paper)]
