Baumé hydrometer, Baumé meter
A special hydrometer invented for industrial use by Antoine Baumé (1728-1804) and designed for determining the specific gravity if liquids of the two types available,] the one measuring liquids heavier than water is most generally employed in photomechanics and electrotyping. For lithographic plate coating solutions, the specific gravity is referred to as density of solution. This varies according to the temperature of the solution. Degrees B = 144,3 (Sg-1):SG. Specific gravity = 144,3:(144,3-degr.B). f aréomètre Baumé - d Baumé-Aräometer n areometer van Baumé; Baumé-meter.
