Bed
In typographic presses the bed is a kind of table made of cast iron, a synthetic
material, or steel that is perfectly level and on which are placed the printing
forms [*wood, press].
The same term is used, by extension, to designate the flat surface of an intaglio
press on which the printer places the plate to be printed.
