Bite until boiling begins
To bite until boiling begins means to bite a metal plate only slightly and usually for a short period of time. In fact, the biting of a plate with an acid solution provokes a fairly effervescent reaction that can reach a point where a kind of boiling effect is obtained. [*attacking agents, biting].
