carbolic acid
phenic acid, phenol White, crystalline mass which turns pink or red if not perfectlyt pure or under influence of light. Soluble in water, alcohol, ether, chloroform, glycerol, carbon disulphide, fixed or volatile oils and alkalies. Formula: C6H5OH. Latin names: phenolum, acidum carbolicum.
