Carbon black
A term covering all of the carbon products in the colloidal range of particle size
produced by the thermal decomposition of hydrocarbon products. Each of the five
principal processes develops its own characteristic carbon: channel or impingement
carbon black, furnace carbon black, lamp black, thermal carbon blacks, and acetylene
carbon black.
