glazing
One of the steps in making paper which ensures that the natural roughness of paper
is reduced to a minimum. Glazing is done on the dry end of the paper making machine
when the paper is run through highly polished hot and cold rollers. One must not
confuse glazing with calendering
since the latter process is used in giving a satin finish or a finish that is
called supercalendering.
