knife
Three basic types of knives are used in printmaking.

  1. Knife used in making woodcuts. [wood, woodcutter's knife]
  2. Cutting knife. See cut
  3. Palette knife. Palette knives have a supple but resistant steel blade which is either rounded off or cut obliquely on one end. Pallette knives are used to work and mix both inks and paints. They are also used to scrape press rollers.

[ink, spatula]
