Linen testers are small optical
instruments made of two flaps that unfold to form a mganifying glass.
Cloth makers use this instrument to analyse the meshes of their
cloth. In printmaking linen testers are used to check op
on
lines,
graining,
the
granulated
plate surface and all other details on a
plate. It is also used in
serigraphy
to check the screens.
