Nitric Acid
Nitric acid, hydrogen nitrate, aqua fortis (HNO3) an exceedingly strong, oxidizing acid. When mixed with hydrochloric acid, nitric acid will dissolve gold. Transparant, colourless or yellowish, fuming, suffocating, caustic and corrosive liquid. Soluble in water and alcohol. Etchant for zinc. Check also attacking agents
