Professional ink rollers (brayers) from Hauer
General properties:
- The rubber rollers are well ground which guarantees an even ink transfer.
- The centre in the roller is made of brass and resists corrosion.
- The handle is made of cast metal and painted. It allows a good grip. The brayer rests on three points to avoid the brayer posing on the rubber. Posing on rubber can lead to damage on the rubber surface.
- The torque of the rubber roller is adjustable. The handle comes with screws and securing nuts on both sides. Turning these crews changes the torque of the roller. This feature can be useful if the inking procedure needs to be very well controlled. (for example in order to avoid "overlap")
These ink rollers are traditionally developed for inking letterpress typography forms. A better quality is not to be found. |
