Conditioners for Caligo "Safe Wash" etching inks
(additives to change the properties of the ink)

Caligo Safe Wash Etching inks can be washed away safely with soap and water, without the need for harmful and expensive solvents.
However, Caligo Safe Wash Etching Inks are oil-based and will therefore handle and print like traditional printing inks.
These inks are lightfast (Blue Wool Scale 6 or higher) with a high pigment loading. You may control the strength and transparency of your colours by the addition of Caligo Safe Wash Transparent Extender. Safe Wash Etching colours are made from single pigments. You can create new colours by mixing with any ink from the Safe Wash Etching range.

The Cranfield Wiping Compound & Tack reducer is a multi purpose additive that can be used for all Cranfield oil based inks, including the Caligo range of inks. It will reduce the tack of the ink but maintain the other characteristics of the ink. It also makes wiping easier. It makes ink transfer easier, even when printing without a press and on difficult paper. It contains some mineral oil and therefore add a maximum of 3% (by volume). PAY ATTENTION. This product can also be used as an alternative to Graphic Chemical's Easy Wipe. It is suitable for all oil-based etching inks.

Vergelijkbaar met Caligo Wiping Compound/tack reducer. Het maakt de inktoverdracht op ruw, droog of "algemeen moeilijk papier" gemakkelijker, zeker als je zonder pers werkt. Het voorkomt "vlekken". Het voorkomt ook het "plukken" zoals dat kan gebeuren met heel zacht papier. (losomende papiervezels tijdens het drukken). Voeg maximaal 5% toe.

The special washable oil that can be added to the Safe Wash Inks to make the ink thinner. The ink becomes thinner, the viscosity decreases, it becomes more fluid and increases transparency. This additive is made from the same linseed oil we use for the Safe Wash Inks. It is therefore more "oily" than "inky". If you want to increase the transparency but do not want to change the properties further, it is better to use Safe Wash Extender. Caligo Safe Wash Oil is Ideal for Monotypes and Carborundum printing when it is necessary to thin the inks. Can also be used for viscosity printing to make an ink thinner.
