Contents: 250 ml. (9 liq.oz.) A rich black liquid acrylic that represents a total replacement for traditional asphaltum and laquer based stop-out varnishes. Developed in cooperation with Keith Howard and its use described is his book "Contemporary Intaglio Printmaking" Users instructions; Degrease the plate first. Apply Stop-out by either pouring directly from the container or by brushing it onto the metal plate. Can be force dried by hairdryer . When reapplying the Stop-out Varnish onto copper plates, rinse plate with a deoxidation liquid consisting of either a vinegar and salt solution or Soya Source. Rinse with cold water, dry and then apply the stop-out varnish. Removal directions: Mix one half cup of washing soda (sodium carbonate) with 1 quart of hot water and place into a photo-developing tray. Place the metal plate with Stop-out Varnish into this solution and rub with a soft brush until the varnish completely dissolves. If this stop -out varnish is allowed to remain on the plate for more than a few days, a 10% solution of household ammonia and cold water must be used in place of the soda solution described above. Health and Safety: This product is considered non-hazardous under the guidelines of the OSHA Hazard Communication Standard 29 CFR 1910.1200). Use the normal safety precoutions; avoid contact with eyes and skin, wash hands after use. If used in an air-brush, wear a mask. |
