The press can be supplied with a number of options; castors and a shelf under the press. For the American market, the press can be fitted with a 120-volt motor. The press can also be equipped with a hydraulic pressure system, which uses a hydraulic hand pump to pressurise the press. This hydraulic pressure system makes pressurisation easier, as the pressure can be read from a manometer and is guaranteed to be the same on both sides. The press can also be fitted with a rotating felt system. The felt for the rotating system is included (pressed felt 3.mm).

As with the other etching presses, the top roller rests on pressure springs, making the press also very suitable for printing woodcuts and linocuts. A stack of cardboard can be placed under the printing spindle, making the press more flexible during printing. (Useful if the printing form is not completely flat in a woodcut) The printing plate, made of synthetic material, runs between the side guides mounted on the side frames.Delivery: In the countries surrounding us, Polymetaal can, if necessary, arrange delivery itself. If the press has to be delivered further afield, we prefer to send the press in its entirety, even if this means disassembling the press at the place of delivery. This is because our warranty (10 years) is only valid if someone from our company or one of our dealers was present during the final assembly

The electric drive system has the following features:

  • powered by an electric motor, 230 V, 1,1 kW. System with variable printing speed
  • Control panel with push buttons "left", "right", "stop" and speedcontrol.
  • electronic protection of the top roller, by infra red light beams. When the light beam is interrupted the motor stops immediately.
  • the bed plate stops on either end automatically by micro switches

Description of the several options:

The JWEV-120 press can be fitted with casters. The image shows a bigger press on casters; the JZM-150.

The JWEV-120 can be fitted with a wooden shelf. This creates storage place for paper, under the press. The image shows an etching press JW-100 with a wooden shelf.

The JWEV-120 can be fitted with a hydraulic pressure system. The image shows the hydraulic pressure system of a JWEVH-120 press.

The hydraulic system is the best system to realize:

  • Pressure setting is very easy
  • Guaranteed the same pressure on both sides of the press.
  • The pressure can be read on a gauge. That makes it very easy to duplicate the parameters like speed and pressure.

This system is much more accurate than reading the position of the pressure spindles. The position of spindles is just an indication of the pressure. This system tells you exactly what the system pressure is.

The image shows the JZE-100 press with a rotating blanket system. The JWEV-120 press can be fitted with the same system. A rotating blanket system makes printing easier, especially with large sheets of paper and if there is only one person operating the press. But it allows only one layer of felt. For normal etching that is fine, but if there is a lot of relief in plates this system is less suitable.
