Johannot used to be an independent paper factory, but was taken over by Arches in 1954. The new company name became Arjomari. This paper was made originally of 100 % linen, (= pur fil) . The composition change but he name remained. The paper has a light structure, excellent for relief printing techniques (lino, typography and wood-engraving) . Can also be used for intaglio. Paper with fine grain, Acid free and calcium carbonate buffered. Natural white. Strong paper (long fibers esparto) which makes is also very good for embossing and intaglio. Made on a cilinder mould paper machine.
