Burning in
After preparing* the lithographic printing element and in order to make the image resistant to the printing process, especially if the printing is to be done with a mechanical press, the image must be inked and then powdered with a resin or asphalt powder which is heated or "burned in". The stone is then etched quite strongly so that the image turns out to be slightly in relief*. [* lithography( III, 4) , dusting, dusting asphalt].
