filler
A product used in silkscreen work to temporarily clog the mesh of the screen.
Filling can be done either around the design to be printed or within the design
itself (as is the case if the filler is used to make the design itself). Thus the
filler can be used in either a positive or in negative way as well as for correcting
or retouching a screen. The filter is applied to the screen using either a brush
or a squeegee. Fillers may he either
cellulose base or water base and are removed with
acetone, water, or specific solvents. Usually fillers are fast drying.
