leather
In printmaking, leather is used on lithographic scraper presses. A piece of leather is fixed to the scraper on the side that scrapes the stone when printing [lithography, printing, presses, scraper].
The apron worn by the
taille-douce printers is also made of leather and is traditionally used to wipe the ink off the printer's hands when palming the plate. Burnishers are also polished on leather.
