This paper is especially designed for all types of intaglio printing and embossing: the presence of linen adds a vibrancy of colours and makes them "shining". The paper has a "cloudy" "open" "transparent" character. Excellent for intaglio, from the finest to the heaviest lines. The structure of the surface is even, but compared to other Arches paper a bit "rough".

This is a major paper in the printmaking and publishing range, called "Arches Silkscreen" in the USA. Being unsized (waterleaf), it absorbs ink freely. Available in a fine clear white (which is fairly bright), with only one surface finsh - H.P- (hot pressed) it is recommended higly for screenprinting and, if slightly moistened, for intaglio processes. It is also receptive as a highly absorbant sheet for monoprinting and lithography.
Velin Arches is a popular mould-made French paper. 100% cotton, two deckle edges. Acid free and calcium carbonate buffered. Slightly warmer and more structure then the BFK-Rives. For all printing techniques, also used as a cover for storing old prints. Internally sized. white 100% cotton (linters)
