The HP-series presses are upper roller driven (without gearing). The spokes from the wheel are made of stainless steel pipe. If the spindles are loosened, the upper roller is raised by spring pressure. This makes presses ideally suited for lino and woodcut as well as intaglio printing. A pile of leather or cardboard can be placed under the spindles, thus providing more flexibility during printing. The upper roller has self lubricating bronze glide bearings and the lower roller ball bearings. The star wheel can be dismantled. Working hight bases of diverse constructions are available as options. Bases are detachable. Simple base (HPO-80) is only a steel support frame. Base HPOD-80 comes with two wooden shelves to offer storage capacity underneath the press. Base HPODW-80 comes with wooden shelves but has casters (double brakes) as well.
